Some Truths Need Gentler Hands.
Hi I'm Cola, I am a writer, speaker, and mentor whose work centers on language, formation, and lived experience.
I work slowly, with intention, and grounded in careful listening.
Not because the work is delicate — but because people are.
This space exists for those who have learned to carry their stories quietly, and are ready to let what has been held rise to the surface — without being rushed.
Who Holds the Work
“Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” — Isaiah 64:8
Shaped by Staying
I did not arrive at this work fully formed.
I learned by staying present — with language, with people, and with my faith — long enough to understand what was actually shaping me.
My practice was shaped over time through listening, reflection, and return, especially during seasons that felt dry or uncertain. Not through urgency or performance, but through steady attention and honesty — the kind that allows what felt lifeless to be restored.
What I offer now comes from formation, not force.
Things That Shaped Me
I’ve always found myself drawn to creative practices, and studying classical piano when I was young helped build attention and patience. What stayed with me most was rhythm — something I still carry, even when I’m working with words.
Words on a page feel like paint on my lips. I enjoy working with color and texture. Lip design began as something playful during a challenging season — a little color in the dark. Over time, it became a way to explore how small details can shift how a person sees themselves. Little by little, I built a peaceful haven, sitting with my Creator as a creator, letting imagination fill the room. It feels sacred to me, another language I return to often. Funny enough, it wasn’t until much later that I realized the very lips I’d once been teased for had become my canvas — an unexpected permission to return to myself.
Along the way, returning to the original design found its place through connecting art and body. That meant working with natural materials. I’m drawn to oils, butters, and botanicals, and to the quiet satisfaction of making things that work gently and over time. I have a deep appreciation for the beauty of creation and for caring for the body with intention.
Saved by grace.
Living with purpose.
Grateful for the life I get to live.
Mentorship Intensive
This mentorship grew out of lived work — years of listening, writing, and learning how restoration happens slowly and honestly.
R.E.M. (Restore & Embrace Myself) is a 12-week formation intensive rooted in language, Scripture, reflection, and disciplined practice. The experience is shared and structured, inviting presence, accountability, and steady engagement.
It is not about fixing what’s broken, but creating space for awareness, responsibility, and meaningful movement forward.
