It's been nine years since you left

I spoke to your father and we've been rebuilding
I've been sharing your memories with him so that he can get to know you
You were always a light in the lives of others and in your absence
His healing now begins
Baby after 17 years, we finally stood in silence at your tree
Knowing that God truly does set people free
Your father says he's sorry and he wants to read your story
I'm so happy God filled our hearts with continuous love and that Our Father from above taught us the power of forgiveness
We forgive and God forgave
He forgave in order to save the lost and remind them of their worth
Although you died
You birthed a legacy
And your story will be carried forward

This piece is written from a place of reunion that happens in the spirit before it ever happens in the flesh.
