Excerpt
I’ve been needing to tell this story for a long time, but I couldn’t rush it. It had to be the right season—because this kind of testimony needs timing, not hype. So let me start at the beginning.
In December 2020, I had a dream: I had a suitcase, I got on a bus, and I was headed to Los Angeles. In the dream, I met a man, and there was this unexpected tenderness—this moment that felt so real it startled me awake. I remember praying right after: “God, don’t let me be intimate with anyone like that unless it’s my husband.”
Two years later, January 2022, I’m reading my Bible and I see a name that takes me right back to that dream. It stirred the question I couldn’t shake: what if God wasn’t just showing me a moment… what if He was calling me somewhere?
At the time, my sister and I were working our business hard, but it needed to break open. And I started thinking: what if I’ve been trying to force Toronto when God has a different geography for the next level?
Then the confirmations started chasing me—Los Angeles on a shirt, Los Angeles in a conversation, Los Angeles in front of my face—like God was repeating Himself until I stopped treating it like a coincidence.
Reflection
I’m realizing that faith isn’t only about believing God can do something—it’s about living like I believe Him.
I believed “Los Angeles” in theory… but God confronted me with the practical question: If you really think you’re moving, why aren’t you packing? That question exposed me. Because it’s possible to feel inspired and still not be surrendered. It’s possible to talk big and still keep everything arranged as if nothing will change.
And packing wasn’t just packing—it was grieving. I was sorting through my son’s things, and it hurt in a way I didn’t expect. I had to face the fear that moving meant leaving him behind. And God met me there: I’m not leaving my son—I’m carrying him differently. I can honor him anywhere. I can build new memories that still speak his name. I can bring what matters most without dragging every piece of pain into the next season.
This is what faith has been doing in me: making me choose priority, making me release excess, making me create space.
And then there was the world’s timing: restrictions, uncertainty, closed doors—every reason to say “not yet.” But I told God, “If You’re asking me to go, I’ll go.”
When I saw “9:28,” something in my spirit locked in. If that meant September 28, then that would be my yes.
Prompts
What has God been repeating to you so often it no longer feels accidental?
Where are you believing in theory, but refusing to prepare in practice?
What would “packing” look like for you—emotionally, spiritually, or practically?
What part of your past are you afraid to carry into your next season, and what would it mean to honor it without being trapped by it?
If God gave you a date, a number, or a nudge—what would your next faithful step be?
