Excerpt
I’ve been holding this story for a while, waiting for the right time to share it—and now feels like the time. This week is about faith. About taking that kind of faith walk like Abraham, when God told him to leave what was familiar and step toward a place he couldn’t yet name.
I know how natural it is to ask, “Where are we going? What’s next? How will it work?” Questions aren’t wrong. But there are moments when faith has to move first. Because if I can already see every detail, it isn’t faith—it’s just sight. Faith is learning to release the need for control, the need to know the entire map before I take one step.
I’ve always been a risk-taker. I’m the glitter-lipstick person. I’m the one who applies, tries, prays, jumps. And yes—when things don’t work out, it can hurt deeply. But I’ve learned that even pain can teach me. It can reveal what was hiding in my heart, and it can prepare me for the next season.
Sometimes what I want isn’t ready yet. Sometimes it isn’t built yet. And the waiting is not punishment—it’s protection, timing, and love.
Reflection
I’m learning that faith is not me forcing outcomes—it’s me trusting God’s plan without rushing to manufacture my own.
When I look at Abraham and Sarah, I see how impatience can create unnecessary mess. Not because God failed, but because waiting felt too hard. And I recognize myself in that temptation: the urge to make a plan B “just in case,” the urge to grab something half-baked because I’m afraid the full promise won’t come.
But trust is holy. Trust is me saying, “God, I believe You’re steady even when I’m not.” It’s me choosing plan A—His way—without cushioning my fear with backup exits.
This season has been teaching me surrender. Quiet. Pulling back. Letting God bring things out of me that I didn’t even know were there—so they can be healed here, not exposed later.
I keep thinking about timing: the right place at the right time, when alignment turns struggle into flow. Maybe the delay isn’t denial. Maybe it’s formation. Maybe what I’m asking for is still being built—like an apartment that didn’t exist the year before I needed it.
And if that’s true, then waiting isn’t wasting. Waiting is wisdom.
Prompts
Where are you demanding the full map before you’ll take the first step?
What “plan B” have you built to protect yourself, and is it quietly draining your trust?
What might God be forming in you during the wait—character, patience, discernment, tenderness, courage?
Where have you mistaken delay for denial, instead of timing for protection?
What is one small act of faith you can take today—without needing the outcome guaranteed?
